AIPMT (PMPD)

The Pre-Medical Pre-Dental Exam or PMPD (also called AIPMT), is the Entrance exam to leading medical schools in the country. The exam consists of a screening test and a main exam. Over 1,50,000 students appear for the screening test nationwide, of which 15,000 are selected. The screening test is an objective exam comprising of only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The main exam is also an MCQ paper from which 1,500 students are selected.

Course Structure

The theory behind the concept is first explained in detail and students are then exposed to a variety of problems and questions based on the concept. At the end of each lecture, homework is given to the students to help them internalize the concepts taught. The next day, the lecture commences with a doubt clearing session where difficulties in the assignment are clarified.

When a unit is completed in a subject, a test is conducted the following week. There is one test each week in each subject by rotation. The tests comprise of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and numerical problems. The solution or the answer key is provided immediately after the test. Test papers are graded and returned to the student usually within two weeks.

Students who have taken Biology as optional electives and preparing for their AIPMT exams will be further trained in Biology along with physics and chemistry. These students will have more lectures in Biology.

Eligibility Criteria

Students who have completed Class 10 in CBSE/ICSE/SSLC Boards will be eligible for admission.

Admissions

  • Direct admission is given to limited students who are in the top 5% of their class.
  • Through tests and interviews conducted every Saturday/Sunday from October to January.
  • Through common entrance exam held in the last week of March.
